Exploring Pokérogue Biomes today!
A biome is an area of land that denotes the environment you're currently in. From the deepest depths of the Earth to the vast horizon of the sea, biomes reach to impossible lengths for you to find Pokémon in a variety of environments. These biomes can vary radically from one another in appearance, Pokemon, trainers and even weather conditions you must endure.
In classic, all biomes are ten stages long and your party is fully healed upon clearing the tenth consecutive stage of the current biome.
In endless, all biomes are 1-4 stages long, and your party will swap out when you change biomes (this removes any stat changes.) Your party will still heal every 10 stages.
*NOTE: When reaching biomes at higher levels, the Pokémon that spawn may be evolutions of the biome's possible spawns.
Traveling Between Pokérogue Biomes
Every 10 waves the biome will change. If the player has the Map item then they can choose their next biome from any possible option(s). Some options are not guaranteed to appear, as indicated by the coloured lines.
Example of Possible Choices
From the Meadow (top left of map), there is a 50% chance that the Fairy Cave is one of the possible next biomes.
-
If the player has the Map, there is a 50% chance that they will have the option to choose between Fairy Cave or Plains, and a 50% chance that they will simply go to the Plains.
-
If the player doesn't have the Map, they have a 75% chance of going to Plains, and 25% chance of going to Fairy Cave.
Some Pokérogue Biomes Tips
-
Every set of ten stages is on a different biome. (You can find a list of all biomes and their encounter order on the wiki.) Each biome is home to a mix of Pokemon which all share a theme or type.
-
The first two biomes will always be the "town" and "plains." These feature mainly normal, grass, and bug-type Pokemon that you would encounter early on in Pokemon games.
-
At the end of each biome (every ten stages), you will either face a gym leader from one of the games or a boss battle. In my experience, you are more likely to see a boss Pokemon than a gym leader.
-
In rare cases, you may face a boss Pokemon on another stage. That means it is considered an "Ultra Rare" spawn. Legendaries fall into this category.
-
The gym leaders and boss battles correspond to the biome they appear in. As an example you are in the "cave" biome, you will face rock-type gym leaders or a cave-dwelling boss Pokemon.
-
After you beat the gym leader or boss, your party will be healed. You will also get a charm that raises your Pokemon's EXP gain. If you beat a gym leader, you will get egg tickets.
